Blues melody and phrasing: getting beyond the pentatonic box
Many guitar students learn a pentatonic scale pretty early on. But have you learned to really make music with it?
"Box" formations are useful learning tools, and possibly the best way to mentally "map" the guitar neck. But shapes on the fingerboard don't make it music.
In this course we will explore blues phrasing and melody, using real musical examples with lots of room for experimentation. You'll finish the course with a new vocabulary of licks and patterns - but more importantly, a stronger sense of how to improvise and create a coherent guitar solo.
