It’s one thing to show you where to put your fingers.
My approach teaches you how to play music.
In the age of the internet guitarist, finding information and resources is easy. Learning how to apply it is another story.
My goal as a teacher is to help you play with more ease and confidence, no matter what you play. My students are professional performers and songwriters, casual hobbyists, weekend warriors, perpetual beginners, and just regular folks that want to learn guitar.
My method teaches you to identify and solve problems, how to practice and learn more effectively, and most of all, how to get out of your own way and enjoy playing music.
These are some of the most common things we might address in lessons:
retrain old habits that hold you back
develop a method and process for practicing
improve your rhythm and strum with dynamics, drive, and authority
grow your chord vocabulary
learn to play melody instead of scales
understand practical theory, including the Nashville Number System
develop your ear to “hear” musical patterns more easily
Private lessons are 30 or 60 minutes. In-person sessions are held at my Nashville studio, and must be scheduled directly via email. Virtual sessions are held on Zoom and may be scheduled directly through the online calendar.
